"Jonas" Painter Settlement

A painter on the set of the Disney Channel's ``The Jonas Brothers' show and a Hollywood studio settled the worker's lawsuit alleging she was fired after being falsely accused of using cocaine in a restroom.

Lawyers for the painter, Doreen Parker, and Hollywood Center Studios told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ruth A. Kwan that the case was resolved, the judge's clerk said today.
Terms were not disclosed.

Parker brought her suit in February 2009 and her lawyers amended it three times. Her allegations in the most recent version were for defamation and both negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Parker also named two fellow employees, JuJuan Bolding and Lupe Alfaro.

Alfaro, a custodian, claimed he saw Parker using cocaine on Sept. 18, 2008, and told her boss, Bolding, who in turn told a co-producer of the show, according to the complaint.

Parker was fired that day even though a urine test conducted at a hospital showed she had not used drugs, according to the lawsuit.

Lawyers for Hollywood Center Studios stated in their court papers that Parker was not an employee of their client but instead of the production company for ``The Jonas Brothers' show.

The production company fired her for work-related reasons and for smoking in the restroom, according to HCS attorneys.
